FlexPay FAQ: your questions, answered

Everything you might want to know before you apply — grouped by topic so you can find your answer fast.

Applying & eligibility

No. Checking whether you prequalify uses a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score in any way. A soft inquiry is invisible to other lenders and never counts against you. A hard inquiry — the kind that can affect your score by a few points — only happens if you choose to formally accept an offer, and we'll always tell you clearly before that step.

To apply with FlexPay you must be a U.S. resident who is at least 18 years old (19 in some states), have a valid government-issued ID and Social Security number, a source of regular verifiable income, and an active checking account with a U.S. phone number. Meeting these requirements doesn't guarantee approval, but it means you're eligible to check your options.

FlexPay is designed to serve a wide range of borrowers, including people whose credit history is still developing. Because checking your options is free and uses only a soft inquiry, there's no downside to seeing what you qualify for — even if you're not sure you'll be approved.

Checking your options takes about a minute, and you'll receive a decision instantly on screen. If you accept an offer, verification and funding typically complete as soon as the next business day.

Loan amounts, rates & terms

FlexPay offers personal loans from $200 to $5,000. The specific amount you qualify for depends on factors including your income, your credit profile, and your state of residence. You'll see the exact amounts available to you when you check your options.

Rates are fixed for the life of the loan and depend on your credit profile and other factors. APRs range from 9.99% to 34.99%. Whatever your rate, you'll see it clearly — along with your fixed monthly payment and total cost — before you accept anything.

Your monthly payment is determined by three things: the amount you borrow, your APR, and the length of your term. Because FlexPay uses simple interest on a fixed schedule, your payment stays the same every month until the loan is paid off, so it's easy to budget for.

Yes. When you review your options, you can pick the combination of loan amount and term that fits your budget. A longer term means a lower monthly payment; a shorter term means less interest overall. The tradeoff is always shown so you can choose with full information.

Fees, payments & payoff

No. There are no application fees and no prepayment penalties. Any applicable charges are disclosed clearly before you accept an offer, so there are never surprises after you sign. What you're quoted is what you pay.

Yes, at any time and with no prepayment penalty. Because FlexPay uses simple interest rather than compounding, paying early directly reduces the total interest you pay — and you keep all of those savings.

The easiest way is autopay, which draws your fixed payment automatically each month so you never miss a due date. You can also make one-time manual payments from your dashboard whenever you like, and you'll get reminders before each payment is due.

If you think you might miss a payment, the best step is to reach out as early as possible. Setting up autopay is the simplest way to protect your payment history and avoid late fees in the first place.

Security & privacy

Yes. FlexPay protects your personal and financial data with 256-bit encryption and industry-standard identity verification on every application. Your information is handled carefully and is never sold.

Your information is used to verify your identity, build your personalized loan offer, and service your loan if you accept one. FlexPay is transparent about its data practices — you can review the full details in the privacy policy.
